Reverses at the floor?
Garage door closes, then goes back up
A door that touches the floor and pops back up usually has its down limit set past the floor. The opener feels the floor push back and reverses, the same as it would for anything in the way.
What it costs

- Check the sensor lights near the floor. Both should glow steady.
- Clear the spot where the door lands, like a mat, a hose or a toy.
- Hold the wall button down until the door closes. If it still comes back up, call and we'll book the visit.
Why it bounces back
An opener reverses when closing takes more force than its setting allows, or when the light beam breaks. If the down limit is set past the floor, the floor itself is the obstruction. Worn rollers and stiff hinges get there slowly: the door needs more force over time, until the opener reads its own door as something in the way.
